Peaceful Times painting by Vaughn Tucker

The Hills Are Alive

Born and raised in St. Ann, Jamaica, I grew up surrounded by the lush green hills and vibrant colors of the Caribbean. Those landscapes, the way sunlight dances across the hillsides, the bold greens and warm earth tones, became the foundation of my artistic vision.

I am a self-taught fine artist working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pencil. For me, painting is not just a craft. It is an act of worship. Every canvas is an opportunity to celebrate the beauty God has woven into creation. My art is rooted in freedom, joy, and community, expressed through the language of color.

The phrase "The Hills Are Alive" captures my artistic philosophy: that color itself is alive. It breathes, it speaks, it moves the soul. Whether I am painting a Caribbean hillside or the quiet glow of a still life, I want each piece to carry that same sense of life and wonder.

Today I live in South Florida with my wife and two children. When I am not painting, I serve as Associate Pastor at Providence Baptist Church and lead Liberating Truth Ministries, a grace-centered gospel ministry. I also teach art through the Vaughn Tucker Art Academy.

Every painting you see here is a one-of-a-kind original. When you bring one into your home, you are welcoming a piece of the Caribbean into your life.
